Chapter 1 -
As I strolled into town I felt the curious eyes of onlookers boring into my back. I reset my chin and swept my eyes around the small village with a defiant glare. I dared them to stop me. I dared them to approach me. I walked with my chest slightly out, talking long strides and showing no emotion on my face. They stared at me as I passed, the familiar villagers taking in the unwelcome guest. That was exactly how I felt as I met their cold stares with my own. Unwelcome. Unwanted.
